The problem
As many Peugeot 406 owners know, the Type C displays tend to get worse over time, especially in warm conditions. Fading, striping and complete blackouts result in an unreadable trip computer and radio info, all while giving your interior a nasty look. 20+ years of ageing hasn't done them any favours, leaving most owners with displays that are barely readable, if at all.
Peugeot stopped selling new displays years ago. Until now, owners have either tried to track down one of the few remaining working (and often expensive) examples, or given up on the idea of a working display altogether.
The fix
We have developed a solution for this problem, restoring your display to proper function. Although the part remains fragile by nature, this fix should be a lasting solution, provided it is handled with proper care.
It's important to understand we will NOT be fixing or replacing the original LCD. It's been tried often enough by others without success. It would ultimately inherit the same problems as the OEM setup has. Instead, we'll replace it and its driver with different, newer parts. Once the fix has been applied, it will not be possible to go back to the old setup.
The new parts are intended to last for many years to come, without the drawbacks the original unit had. This means no fading over time or due to exposure to high temperatures.
Also important: Since we've had to redraw every screen pixel-for-pixel, we've opted out of redrawing the satellite navigation. The maps are outdated by some 20 years by now, so it just wasn't worth it. Users are advised to either remove the disc from the unit in the boot, or remove and de-program the module altogether. Either way works, so not having access to PP2000 isn't a concern.

Questions
Will the display need programming after being fixed?
No, it's a drop-in replacement. No programming needed, so it's suitable for owners without access to PP2000 / Diagbox.
Do I need to remove the display myself?
Yes, but it's easy and we have a guide for it in the Downloads section.
How long will the restoration take?
The display can be fixed in roughly a day's time, so shipping back and forth will most likely be the real limitation here. During the planning step, we can work out a shipping schedule that suits your needs.
Will I be getting my own display back, or is a trade-in possible?
We'll only ever work on your own unit, for two reasons:
1. We want to avoid problems with programmed settings specific to your vehicle.
2. We want to make sure you don't end up with a part that's in worse condition than what you sent us.
If your own display is broken beyond repair we might be able to help you find a replacement, often for a reasonable price.
What if it turns out it can't be fixed?
This barely happens, as the backend is much more robust than the LCD itself. This is all we need working for the fix to be applied. To avoid any mishaps, we will check with you beforehand for obvious signs of incompatibility with our methods. In the event of the display being delivered dead on arrival we will refund the restoration fee. However, we cannot refund the shipping fee.
Is there a discount for group orders?
Unfortunately not. The cost of new parts goes down almost nothing with greater quantities, so there's nothing to pass on.
